When Ron Burgundy, aka Will Ferrell, gives a pep talk to LAFC

ferrell.jpg

We've always loved Will Ferrell. And now we love him even more, because he is the part-owner of Major League Soccer's newest team, Los Angeles Football Club.

You know LAFC. They're the ones who have those instantly iconic caps and the absurd videos starring their coach  Bob Bradley) and players (Carlos Vela, etc.) lifting their heads. You've got to watch it to get it.

Anyway, LAFC played their first match last weekend, and Ferrell was on hand and on point, pulling out his famous Ron Burgundy character to talk about soccer with the announcers from ESPN (including K+S friends Taylor Twellman and Max Bretos).

Watch and laugh. We did.

Kicking + Screening Forms New Venture to Bring Soccer Films to Broader Audiences

From inception, the goal of Kicking + Screening has been to bring great soccer films to soccer fans in North America – and turn film fans into great soccer fans. Today, we kick things up a notch (or two) with the formation of the Kicking + Screening Media Group, a new distribution company that will bring great soccer films to more audiences than ever before.

The K+S Media Group will showcase narrative, documentary, and short films on a new dedicated streaming channel and on VOD platforms such as iTunes, Amazon Video, and more. Films will also be available for theatrical viewings, festival screenings, and special events.

“After nearly 10 years of screening the world's best soccer films, we are finally achieving another goal: sharing these stories year round and with larger audiences,” K+S MG’s Rachel Markus said. “We're excited and deeply committed to finding fans for the many soccer filmmakers who capture the passion of this game so well. And really, what's better than soccer films, soccer films and more soccer films?”

Celtic Soul, directed by Michael McNamara and produced by Markham Street Films, will be available in the United States starting on Tuesday, January 30. Fans can watch the film on the following platforms: iTunes, Amazon Video, Vudu, GooglePlay, Sony Playstation, Comcast, Spectrum, Cox, Verizon, Frontier, Brighthouse, Dish, and DIRECTV.
